BUSINESS SOLUTIONS HOUR
The Business Solutions Hour is a prayer programme of the LEAP Christian Academy. It provides scriptural business support tips and prayer guidance for businesspersons, organizational leaders, and others that desire to be more influential and effective in the marketplace. If you are a Christian, we urge you to set apart a little time every day personally, and once a week in a group, specifically to pray for any profitable work (business) that you are engaged in.
The meeting times may not be more than one hour, but it must be focused on your work and your workplace situation. This is because your profitable work or business is much more that your source of income and survival. It is God’s plan to bless people in your sphere of influence and position you to make sustainable impact in the marketplace. You therefore need to pray with increased knowledge and awareness to be able to achieve this purpose on a sustainable basis.
It is your responsibility to resist all unprofitable activities and challenges that seek to keep you from focused, intelligent and scriptural prayers for your ministry. Your ministry in this regard comprises all the assignments, opportunities and networks that the Lord arranges for you, so that you can use the gifts and talents that He has given you to fulfill your heavenly call and achieve your purpose on earth.
Because your profitable work (or business) is a significant part of your earthly ministry, you must use the opportunities that it provides to make real impact in peoples’ lives. When you do this, making money becomes merely a by-product of the real value that you have created. Money was not planned by God to be the end of all your work. Blessings and glory are the planned end results, but money is provided as a tool (fuel) for you to make the impact and also to gain from.
The lack of this knowledge is putting a lot of Christian businesspeople in trouble, as they fail to understand the real purpose of being in business. Having a better understanding of your purpose in business will position you to work for the Master in the marketplace, and not just for a boss, your organization, people or even yourself. All of these may fetch you wages, but it is the Lord that blesses you with the increase and all that goes along with it. This is what makes you truly blessed and also positions you to be a blessing. And, by the way, that is the real meaning of being wealthy (Deuteronomy 8:18; Proverbs 10:22).
The prayer for business transformation focuses attention on issues relating to: internal and external business environmental factors; marketplace evangelism; business financing and finances; market dynamics and impact; marketing intelligence; personal and business debts situations; business risk mitigations; business insights and superior ideas; core personnel motivations; creative thinking and strategic planning; value adding partnerships; product/service uniqueness and branding; business growth and expansion; typical and unusual challenges; major business inhibitions; etc.
